3rd Annual Tri-the-Illini Triathlon

Registration: Registration can be completed by the link above or via the printable entry form. Printable entry forms must be received by September 15, 2010. If the form is NOT received by September 15, 2010 you will NOT be registered. There will be an increase in registration costs of $10 effective September 6th.
Overview: Come see the new recreation facility and race through the beautiful campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Swim will be held in the Olympic distance pool (50m), ride through the flats and run through the heart of campus.
Swim: Swimmers will begin the 300m swim individually, with another going every 5 - 10 seconds (depending on the number of participants). All athletes will be notified when the time approaches of the exact delay between athletes. Swimmers, will be divided up into groups according to time that will determine when they will enter the pool. All registrants give a swim time when they register. This time should be for a 300m swim. The exit of the swim will be located west of the pool. The swim will be completed outdoors, weather permitting, and will be a snake swim. Bike: The bike course will be changed this year to ensure safety of all participants. A map is provided here. Per USAT rules, helmets are mandatory. There are no exceptions.
Run: The run will be completed as a road and sidewalk race. The inner loop is the U of I's quad. The run map may be found here: Run.
Transition: T1 and T2 are located in the same place, located just west of the pool.
Awards: Various awards from sponsors along with medallions will be given to top finishers in their respective age group. All participants will receive a shirt upon entrance in the race. To guarantee yourself a shirt register by August 19, 2010.
Packet Pick Up and Race Day: Packet pick up can be done at two times. The day before the race you can pick them up at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) between 2-7 PM. On race day the packet may be picked up from 6:30-7:30 AM inside of the ARC lobby on U of I's campus. Packets will include your race number and T-shirt. Shirts and sizes are limited, and will be awarded based on time of registration. Additionally, on the morning of the race an informal overview of the course will be given at 7:50 by the pool. Time chips will not be included with your packet, but rather distributed on race day. Once received you are held accountable for your time chip. FIT, race volunteers, and sponsors are no longer held accountable. Parking will be available in the E14 lot. Location can be seen here.
Rules: The Tri-the-Illini is a USAT sanctioned event and thus follows USAT rules and guidelines.
Age Groups: Collegiate/Elite, 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-4950-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and over
Refund and Inclement Weather: All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event of inclement weather, the race will be delayed as long as possible to ensure success of the event; a cancellation will occur as a last resort. Shirts and sizes are limited, and will be awarded based on time of registration. All entrants will be required to sign a waiver and a release of liability form on or before race day. An athlete will not be allowed to compete unless the required forms have been completed and received.
